Hello neighbors,
Phase 1 of road maintenance will begin March 31st and is expected to be completed on Thursday, April 9th. This phase includes the grading of Vista Del Oro, and the addition of 4 inches of asphalt millings with a dust inhibitor added. As discussed in our annual meeting, this work is being paid for by donations from neighbors willing to contribute to the effort. Cibola is not being worked on at this time.
Some important information:
Phase 2 of maintenance is the grading of Nugget Patch and Flying Fox, utilizing VDOMA funds. Spec AB product will be added where needed most. Maintenance will begin after the work on Vista Del Oro is completed. Exact dates and the company doing the work will be communicated once details have been finalized.

A special meeting has been scheduled for Sunday 4/14. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the proposal from Platinum Paving to pave Vista Del Oro and Nugget Patch. We will discuss the proposal and discuss ways to fund paving should we move forward. We WILL NOT be making a final decision at this meeting, but will hopefully be able to gather enough information to send a proposal out for a formal vote after our discussion. Our plan is to record the meeting for anyone that is not able to attend.
Thank you,
VDOMA Board

Hi Neighbors,
The board has been advised a complaint was raised regarding the road dragging, suggesting this practice is unsafe or unauthorized. This complaint was not brought directly to the board but I would still like to take a minute to address this concern.
As you may know, we have been dragging the roads over the last 2 or 3 years. It's not intended to replace the road maintenance, but has been done in an effort to keep the road groomed in between having a road company come out and do overall maintenance. Last year, Jeff Schaffer (Board Pres at the time) spoke with Charlie, owner of L-Bar-L which is the company who did our most recent road maintenance. He gave us additional tips on how best to groom and did not see any problems with us continuing this practice throughout the year. As a result, the Board does not consider the dragging to be "unauthorized" and in fact we are continuing to seek volunteers willing to take a turn now and then to help keep the roads as smooth as can be.
Thanks!

12/10/21 Well it took a while but the road work has finally been completed!
8/20/21 Hello neighbors! We realize the road is a little worse for wear with all this monsoon activity. We've already met with 3 road contractors and are currently waiting for their bids. Once received we'll make a decision about who to hire and get things going! Thanks from the Board.
6/4/21 - This brush fire was on French Dr on a very windy day! Just a little too close for comfort. Many thanks to the Firefighters who were able to get this out quickly. A helicopter water drop helped too! An additional thanks to the Hotshot crew that stayed around to make sure nothing flared up.
This is an important reminder of the importance of clearing out dead brush on our lots and keeping defensible space around our homes. Here are a couple of links with some great information:

Some important information:
- Specialty Paving will be doing the work. They work 10 hour days and four days per week. (M, T, W, Th)
- Specialty Paving asked if local travel can be limited as much as possible on these specific work days in order to facilitate an efficient placement effort. Limiting interruptions to Specialty Paving may allow them to complete the work sooner.
- Eric Rolland and/or his employee will be assisting Specialty Paving with traffic control in order to mitigate traffic delays and congestion during the work.
- Eric will be off and on at the site and will be watching the product being loaded into delivery trucks at the quarry to ensure compliance is being maintained relating to materials quality.
- Eric Rolland is the direct point of contact should the Board or any community member have a question regarding this maintenance effort. Eric’s cell number is: 715-760-0598.
- We will send out a notification should there be any changes to this schedule.

October 2020 - Note from the Board:
Hi Neighbors,
We wanted to keep all of you posted on events since our last communication. At the end of June, we had a volunteer event to cut brush back along the roads. The group did a fantastic job. Thanks to all who helped. Also, we have several devoted volunteers that continue to drag the road. We have received a number of comments about how much it helps. Any additional feedback would be appreciated.
